Jim Magas is known for creating outsider rock, both electronically, as MAGAS, and with bands Couch, Lake Of Dracula, the Many Moods of Marlon Magas, The Browns, Miss High Heel and most recently The Violent ARP Band. Magas erupted onto the scene in 1992, with his first band, Couch, formed with Peter Larson, who also co-founded Bulb Records with Magas. Larson later assumed ownership of the label. Magas split with Couch and Bulb in 1995, moving to Chicago to form Lake Of Dracula with Weasel Walter (guitar) and Heather M (drums).
