The wound-wire guitars and cyber-caveman drumming of this quartet recall the late-‘70s birth of post-punk: its immediacy, insistence and uncompromising, confrontation-as-art stance. Eschewing the heavy reverb and wandering melodies of the post-Women generation, their staccato jangle and barking vocals are as urgent and direct as a military coup.
