Elements of blissful ambient music, sharp but distant noise and fragmented melodies recalling funk and R&B are just the beginning. Yves Tumor is an intentionally mysterious, sometimes difficult purveyor of fringe sounds and anachronistic collage. On stage, things only get weirder: the beats are more cantankerous and foregrounded; Tumor a menacing front person in varying states of dress. The end result is as confounding as it is rewarding.
