You don’t have to know that Leucrocuta grew up having nightmares about her classical music training to enjoy the minimal, dark-wave synth tunes she makes, but then again, it certainly doesn’t hurt. The naive joy of new wave and twitchy paranoia of techno come in and out of focus across Leucrocuta’s work, affirming the neurotic but hedonistic sensation you get when you hear it.
