Apollo Ghosts hit my radar a couple years back when my good friend from Vancouver, Jarrett Samson, mailed me a copy of the Apollo Ghosts' debut LP "Hastings Sunrise." Given that I trust Mr. Samson's taste like few others, I gave it a spin. Then another spin, and before you know it, Apollo Ghosts started haunting me for months, to the point that when I first saw them live (in a backyard in Vancouver on a sunny Canada Day afternoon), I was surprised to find that I knew all the words. All of them. The songs Apollo Ghosts play are disarmingly charming, full of wit and intelligence and begging for a wider audience, which might come once people hear the new LP "MOUNT BENSON," which just ups the ante.
