Performance-based artist Jeneen Frei Njootli’s music creates a dissonant soundscape that is unsettling, yet alluring. An angle grinder on bone yields long cello pulls. A hum into a braid of hair rumbles through the room while an explosive percussive quality erupts from fingertips on antler. You strain to see, but some sounds are part of blood memory and are better felt than gazed upon.
