Bringing the Calgary zine community together, WE ARE NOT AN ISLAND presents a space that is safe, constructive and accessible– effectively unifying the Calgary community of self-identified queer folk and other traditionally marginalized creators of zines, comics, books and other printed matter. Allies of the queer community are also welcome to participate. This two-day event will celebrate the thriving artistic practices by and for these voices through the form of printed matter. 

The fair is a two day event, occurring in the basement of the #1 Legion on June 23 and 24. The event is organized and curated by Bronson Smillie, a local queer artist aiming to showcase the work of self identified queer-folk and other traditionally marginalized members of the Calgary creative community.

Running June 23 - 24 at the #1 Legion (Basement), 11:00am - 6:00pm.
