Zoon is the musical project of Daniel Monkman, an Anishinaabe artist combining First Nations experience with shoegaze — sometimes dubbed “moccasin-gaze.” After debut album Bleached Waves sold out its first run and was repressed, it was shortlisted for the Polaris Prize in 2021. Zoon will also appear as one half of Ombiigizi at Sled Island.
