In the last decade, vinyl has seen a major resurgence in the music industry. In 2022, vinyl surpassed CDs as the most popular physical format of music, a feat not seen since the early ‘80s. However, with an increased demand for music on vinyl, artists are facing a new set of challenges. While vinyl may be the new preferred medium, the costs and difficulties of pressing a record are exponentially higher than that of CDs or tapes.
